Job description

The Software Engineer 2 contributes to the design, development, testing, and delivery of scalable features within Asurion's Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (X++) platform. This role collaborates with cross-functional partners, writes maintainable code, reviews peer work, and supports continuous integration and deployment practices, applying approved AI tooling to accelerate development, testing, and code review. The engineer troubleshoots production issues, improves system reliability, and participates in agile ceremonies. Success requires sound engineering judgement, clear communication, and a commitment to secure, performant solutions. This position offers growth through ownership of moderately complex components and mentorship from senior engineers while influencing quality and coding standards across the team.Software Engineer, D365 Finance & Operations

Location: Nashville, TN (hybrid)

At Asurion, we build products and experiences that help people stay connected and protected. Our Dynamics 365 product team (DAX) builds and evolves the ERP platform that runs Asurion's Corporate Finance business, and we value pragmatic engineering, open collaboration, and diverse perspectives in small, empowered teams.

We're seeking a Software Engineer to help design, build, test, and deliver scalable features on our Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations platform, working alongside SQL and .NET across the stack. You'll partner closely with fellow engineers, product managers, business analysts, and the broader Back Office IT organization to ship new capabilities to Asurion's ERP. Operating with some guidance from senior engineers, you'll own well-defined features end-to-end, execute against technical designs, and deliver maintainable, well-tested code - while making active use of AI-assisted development tools and helping identify where AI can improve how the team builds and ships.

Why this opportunity stands out
  • Real business impact:ship features on the ERP platform that runs Asurion's Corporate Finance operations
  • Room to grow:own well-defined features end-to-end and grow toward ownership of a component area, with mentorship from senior engineers
  • Modern, AI-forward workflow:use AI-assisted tooling day to day and help shape where it adds the most value
  • Small, empowered team:solve real problems in a collaborative, low-ego environment where good ideas move quickly into production
What You'll Do
  • Own the implementation and delivery of well-defined features across Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, services, and data layers, executing against technical designs
  • Write and maintain unit tests to validate functionality and protect against regressions
  • Apply AI tooling to accelerate development, testing, and code review, and help identify where AI can improve team efficiency and quality
  • Design and build stable APIs and integrations for common service interactions
  • Review peers' code for correctness, readability, maintainability, and security, and offer actionable feedback
  • Identify and remediate common security vulnerabilities in the services you build
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, and alerting to improve delivery consistency and production reliability
  • Contribute to design discussions, technical documentation, and RFCs, and participate in agile ceremonies
  • Grow toward ownership of a component area, contributing to onboarding and team standards along the way
What You'll Bring
  • Foundational software engineering knowledge, typically gained through a degree in computer science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • A track record of delivering features to production in a professional software engineering environment; engineers who thrive in this role have typically owned multiple features end-to-end across several release cycles
  • Proficiency in a statically typed, object-oriented language (C#/.NET, Java, X++, or similar) and relational databases / SQL
  • Experience writing unit tests to validate the code you deliver
  • Comfort collaborating within a cross-functional, multi-disciplinary delivery team
  • Hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools (code completion, testing, code review), with the judgment to validate AI-generated code before committing
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies and modern engineering practices (version control, code review, CI/CD)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Hands-on Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (X++) development experience
  • ERP domain exposure in Corporate Finance (e.g., general ledger, AP/AR, financial reporting)
  • Experience applying AI tooling to real development work (e.g., code generation, test creation, code review, or debugging)
  • .NET/C# and systems integration experience
How You Work
  • You keep customers and business outcomes front of mind
  • You communicate clearly in writing and conversation, and produce clear technical specs and design notes
  • You collaborate well across engineering, product, and business partners, and head off misalignment through clarity and follow-through
  • You balance velocity, quality, and long-term maintainability, and make pragmatic decisions
  • You navigate ambiguity by asking questions, structuring undefined problems, and following through on commitments
  • You share context generously, help unblock teammates, and contribute to an inclusive, low-ego culture

Interested? We know candidates rarely match every preferred qualification. If this role aligns with your experience and interests, we encourage you to apply.
