Job Summary

The Project Manager role at American Engineering Testing (AET) serves as an entry point into project management within the civil engineering and consulting fields. In this role, the Project Manager will gain foundational experience and skills by assisting senior project managers in the planning, organization, and execution of construction materials testing projects.

Working under the guidance of more experienced project managers, the Project Manager will learn to navigate project documentation, resource allocation, and basic client communications to ensure projects are set up for success. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in establishing project timelines and resource allocation, ensuring all phases are prepared to meet AET’s standards for quality and efficiency.
  • Coordinate the timely collection and testing of samples and materials with field and lab teams to maintain consistency with project requirements.
  • Organize and update project documentation, including tracking sample data, maintaining field logs, and compiling test result summaries.
  • Provide project updates to clients and internal teams under the supervision of senior project managers, ensuring client expectations are managed effectively.
  • Monitor field safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards, assisting the project team in adhering to AET’s safety and quality practices. 


Other Areas of Accountability

  • Assist in maintaining safety standards for fieldwork and laboratory testing.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of project milestones and sample data. 
  • Support adherence to AET’s quality standards and industry regulations.


Supervisory Responsibility

  • None. 


Required Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related field, or equivalent amount of experience.
  • A minimum of 1year of project management experience in the construction or engineering industry.


Preferred Skills

  • Basic understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Word.
  • Knowledge and experience working with Microsoft Project Management software Dynamics.


Pay Transparency

Base compensation is expected to be in the range of $68,000 – $82,000 annually based on skill set and experience. AET offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health benefits, insurance, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), long term savings, paid time off, and professional development opportunities. The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future.


Work Environment

  • Primarily office-based with frequent field visits.
  • Exposure to outdoor environments and active construction sites, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Regular use of personal protective equipment (PPE) in field settings.
