Senior Project Manager

Senior Project Manager - Preconstruction 

Based in the Midwest region, we are an industry leader delivering utility-scale renewable energy and electrical infrastructure projects for commercial, industrial, and utility clients.

We're seeking a Senior Project Manager with expertise in electrical engineering, renewable energy, and large-scale construction projects. 

This role will drive technical excellence across preconstruction efforts while mentoring project teams, improving processes, and ensuring projects transition seamlessly from development into construction.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Lead preconstruction activities for utility-scale solar, battery energy storage, and electrical infrastructure projects
  • Develop project schedules, budgets, execution plans, and risk mitigation strategies
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, estimating, permitting, construction, and operations teams throughout project development
  • Conduct constructability reviews and value engineering assessments to improve installation efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize schedule risk
  • Review Bills of Material, equipment specifications, vendor submittals, engineering packages, and procurement requirements
  • Support material standardization, long-lead equipment planning, and procurement strategy development
  • Mentor Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers on engineering fundamentals, constructability, procurement, and project execution best practices
  • Establish technical standards, SOPs, training programs, onboarding processes, and continuous improvement initiatives across the preconstruction organization
  • Support project turnover activities and provide technical guidance during construction execution when needed
  • Drive engineering coordination efforts to improve project quality, reduce technical risk, and enhance field execution

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline
  • 7+ years of experience in electrical engineering, renewable energy, utility-scale construction, or electrical infrastructure projects
  • Strong experience reviewing electrical designs, construction drawings, engineering packages, and technical project documentation
  • Experience coordinating engineering, procurement, and construction activities on complex projects
  • Strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, constructability, risk management, and project execution
  • Ability to travel up to 25% to project sites
