At Vallourec, we are seeking individuals whose passion and dedication match the strength and resilience of the steel we produce. As an Electrical Project Engineer, you will leverage your technical expertise to design, plan, and implement industrial electrical and automation upgrades and projects across multiple Youngstown sites.
Your Role at a Glance
  • Develop and manage Electrical and Automation capital investment improvement projects for multiple Vallourec sites in Youngstown.
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to the Maintenance Manager on all facets of Equipment Electrical and Automation systems, including Wonderware upgrades, traceability projects, energy conservation, PLC and HMI upgrades, Ethernet conversions, and IT interface updates.
  • Write technical procedures and develop detailed scopes of work.
  • Prepare project quotes and implement safety initiatives related to electrical and automation.
  • Manage maintenance on plant emergency generators to ensure reliable electricity for critical circuits.
  • Develop and maintain technical documents and prints, including drawing changes and updates, ensuring accessibility for plant personnel and working with vendors for complete drawing management.
  • Communicate with Maintenance Manager, General Supervisor, and Area Supervisors to solve and prevent mill issues.
  • Promote Electrical and Automation best practices to identify and update obsolete hardware.
  • Collaborate with Reliability-Based Maintenance Team to support Industry 4.0 advancements.

What Sets You Apart

  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, MS Project, and MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
  • Willingness to travel up to 10% for supplier visits and factory acceptance tests.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours and provide consultation as needed.
  • Knowledge of National Electric Code, OSHA regulations, and IEEE standards.
  • 4-year bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • 5-10 years of project management experience preferred.
  • Technical training on Allen Bradley and ABB PLCs, drives, and breakers.
  • 5-10 years of mill-related experience preferred.
  • Training in project management and knowledge of low and medium voltage equipment.
  • Excellent computer skills and National Electrical Code training.
