Job description
  • Seeking a Technical Project Manager experienced in Network technologies, Information Assurance and Sys Admin to join our DISA program team in Fort Meade, MD. This is an exciting key position providing Project management support and as a liaison between Government PMs and the contractors.
  • The Network Technical Project Manager at DISA is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and finalization of network-related projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members, third-party contractors, or consultants in order to deliver projects and deliverables In Accordance With (IAW) the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The Network Technical Project Manager also defines the project's objectives and oversees quality control throughout its life cycle.
Responsibilities:
Project Planning & Management:
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with Government PMs and stakeholders.
  • Develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conduct project meetings and track and analyze project performance metrics.
Resource Management:
  • Estimate and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Liaise with contractor Task Leads to ensure the best possible resource allocation for the project.
Risk Management:
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical paths.
  • Continuously monitor and mitigate potential risks.
Communication:
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders effectively.
  • Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards.
  • Implement project standards and best practices.
Technical Guidance:
  • Provide technical direction and support to project teams.
  • Resolve technical issues as and when they arise.
Documentation & Reporting:
  • Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
  • Prepare regular status reports and provide updates to stakeholders and senior management.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Conduct project post-mortems and create recommendations reports in order to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
Compliance & Security:
  • Ensure that all projects adhere to DISA's security policies and procedures.
Experience/Qualifications:
  • DoD and/or Government program experience preferred; DISA experience a plus.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in network project management, preferably in a defense or government setting.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, infrastructure, and security practices.
  • Familiarity with DISA's mission, policies, and procedures.
  • Experience leading and managing multiple cross-functional project teams concurrently.
  • Strong communication, organizational, effective leadership, and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of project management software tools and methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Tools; specifically, PowerPoint, Word & Excel
Special Requirements/Security Clearance:
  • DoD Active Secret Clearance Required (or eligible for Interim Secret Clearance)
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) certification or equivalent required.
