CMM Programmer

Fort Worth, TX
Full-Time | 2nd Shift | Monday–Friday

About the Opportunity

The Hammitt Group is partnering with a growing automotive manufacturing company in the Fort Worth area to identify an experienced CMM Programmer for their quality team. This position plays a key role in ensuring product quality through precision measurement, inspection programming, and quality data analysis within a fast-paced production environment.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience programming and operating CMM equipment, strong GD&T knowledge, and familiarity with automotive quality standards and inspection processes.

Responsibilities
  • Program and operate CMM equipment for part inspection and validation
  • Perform dimensional layouts and maintain accurate inspection documentation
  • Support PPAP submissions through detailed measurement reporting
  • Conduct gauge calibration and certification activities for inspection equipment and tooling
  • Perform process capability studies and assist with continuous improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain inspection standards, reporting methods, and quality documentation
  • Analyze non-conforming material and assist with corrective action investigations
  • Maintain and organize layout history files and quality records
  • Support internal audits, customer requirements, and quality system compliance
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the quality lab and inspection equipment
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processes
Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of experience in a CMM Programming or Quality Inspection role within manufacturing
  • Automotive manufacturing experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of GD&T and blueprint reading
  • Experience with:
    • PC-DMIS
    • PolyWorks
    • Romer Arm / scanning equipment
    • Gauge calibration and inspection processes
  • Familiarity with PPAP documentation and automotive quality standards
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a production environment
Preferred Background
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related field
  • Experience working with welded assemblies, metal fabrication, or stamped components
  • Knowledge of process capability studies and statistical analysis
