Job description

Role : Calypso Developer

Location : Remote

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, customize, and maintain Calypso applications and platform enhancements.
  • Build scalable enterprise solutions using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices.
  • Develop and maintain integrations between Calypso and internal/external financial systems.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries, database objects, and ETL workflows.
  • Participate in application architecture, technical design discussions, and code reviews.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement performance improvements.
  • Support application deployments, upgrades, and ongoing platform enhancements.
  • Ensure security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence across applications.
  • Collaborate with business users, analysts, architects, and development teams to deliver effective solutions.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote engineering best practices.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise software development.
  • 3+ years of hands-on Calypso development experience.
  • Strong expertise customizing and extending the Calypso platform.
  • Experience with Calypso workflows, APIs, trade lifecycle processing, and back-office operations.
  • Strong programming experience in Java.
  • Hands-on experience with Spring Framework and Spring Boot.
  • Experience developing RESTful APIs and Microservices.
  • Knowledge of enterprise application servers such as JBoss.
  • Experience with messaging technologies including JMS and MQ.
  • Strong SQL development and relational database experience.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL processes, and system integration.
  • Experience integrating Calypso with enterprise applications and third-party financial systems.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Experience supporting production environments, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Experience working within Agile frameworks such as Scrum, Kanban, or SAFe.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of Kafka or other event-driven messaging platforms.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including Splunk, Dynatrace, Grafana, or Prometheus.
  • Experience integrating with financial platforms such as SWIFT, FedWire, ACH, DTCC, Bloomberg, MarkitWire, AcadiaSoft, or TriResolve.
  • Knowledge of Capital Markets products including FX, FX Options, Interest Rate Products, Commodities, Credit Derivatives, and Exchange-Traded Derivatives.
  • Experience with Wall Street Systems, Nasdaq Spectrum, or similar Capital Markets platforms.
  • Relevant Calypso or Financial Services certifications.
