Job description

Under direct supervision, develops and/or modifies low complexity applications and software from detailed specification. Codes/modifies, tests, debugs, documents and maintains programs. Analyzes low complexity technical problems and provides solutions.

This is a remote position. You will be required to go into the office twice a month if you reside within 50 miles of one of the following offices: Plano, TX; Portsmouth, NH; Boston, MA. Please note this policy is subject to change.

Responsibilities:

  • Participates in low level design activities by analyzing requirements.
  • Assists in the system design process and solution development.
  • Assists in developing and/or modifying source code of low complexity from detailed specifications.
  • Assists in unit test case development and develops test scripts.
  • Works from specifications to assist in developing and modifying operating software programming applications.
  • Assists in trouble shooting production issues and performing root cause analysis.
  • Experience with Full Stack, TypeScript and JAVA Script are highly preferred.

  • Bachelor`s degree in technical or business discipline or equivalent experience. Generally 1+ years of professional experience.
  • Proficient in two or more programming languages and tools; knowledgeable in new and emerging technologies.
  • Negotiation skills; oral and written communication skills.
  • General knowledge of the following: IT concepts, strategies and methodologies.
  • IT architectures and technical standards.
  • General knowledge of a business function(s) and business operations.
  • Design and development tools.
  • General knowledge of layered systems architectures.
  • General understanding of shared software concepts.
  • General knowledge of architectures and technical standards.
  • General knowledge of agile software development concepts and processes.
  • Must be proactive, demonstrate initiative and be a logical thinker.
  • Consultative skills, including the ability to understand and assist in applying customer requirements, including drawing out unforeseen implications and making recommendations for design, the ability to define design reasoning, understanding potential impacts of design requirements.
  • Understanding of backlog tracking, burndown metrics, and incremental delivery. Collaboration, prioritization, and adaptability skills required.

Pay Philosophy: The typical starting salary range for this role is determined by a number of factors including skills, experience, education, certifications and location. The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.
