Job description

Job Title: Engineering Assoc-Trans I-Sr

Work Place Flexibility: Onsite 

Legal Entity: Entergy Operations, Inc.-EOI 

* This position will be filled as an Engineering Associate I, II, or SR. based on the experience and qualifications of the selected candidate.**

JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE:

This position works closely with Design, Standards, AM, Grids, Project Management, Construction, and Supply Chain to assure timely and accurate acquisition of materials. Activities are related to the planning, selection, ordering, scheduling and receipt of materials needed for Substations, Transmission Lines, and System Protection. Project areas include development and assignment of stock codes, material descriptions, purchase specifications, and supplier capabilities.

JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Specify and order materials requested by Design, AM, Grids, Project Management, Construction and coordinate with suppliers, standards, and Supply Chain to assure that the correct materials are selected, ordered, and received timely with correct accounting.
  • Create and maintain stock codes and develop and validate material descriptions from Maximo and other Entergy materials lists.
  • Validate manufacturers and their products are approved by Design Basis and evaluate manufacturers for compliance with standards.
  • Verify manufacturer and supplier information, including descriptions and part numbers and maintain lists of approved vendors and the parts which each is approved to supply.
  • Track material requisitions, purchase orders, and status, and provide summary reports of material disposition.
  • Help to prepare monthly accruals.
  • Meet with vendors to discuss and resolve material issues, such as expediting, late orders, warranties, and incorrect materials.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum Experience and Education:

  • Engineering Associate I: (must have one of the following)
      • 5 years of operational experience
      • 2-or 4-year Associate/Technical Degree.
  • Engineering Associate II: (must have one of the following)
      • 10 years of operational experience
      • 5 years of operational experience with a 2-to-4-year Associate/Technical Degree.
  • Engineering Associate Sr.:
      • 10 years of operational experience with a 2-to-4-year Associate/Technical Degree.
    • Required: Supply Chain, Warehousing, or Procurement experience.
  • Preferred:
    • Supply Chain, Warehousing, or Procurement experience.
    • Degrees in Business, Accounting, Engineering Technology, or Construction Management.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Mastery of relevant material and contract procurement processes and policies.
  • Consistency demonstrates good judgment.
  • Good interpersonal skills along with strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of Personal Computer operations and related software.
  • Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
  • Ability to work well under pressure. Self-motivated and dependable team player.
  • Required to work safely and follow all Entergy safety policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated acceptance of a diverse and inclusive work environment and customer base.
  • Ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement.
  • Knowledgeable in MS Office software (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
