Job Description

We are looking for a Software Developer to design, develop, and support Microsoft Power Platform solutions, data integrations, and business intelligence reporting while collaborating with stakeholders to deliver scalable business applications. This position will be a full-time contract and hybrid in Chicago, IL.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, and deploy canvas apps and model-driven applications using Microsoft Power Apps

  • Develop and maintain Power Automate workflows to automate business processes and improve operational efficiency

  • Design, develop, and maintain SQL Server and Oracle database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, and functions

  • Write, optimize, and troubleshoot complex SQL queries for reporting, integrations, and data validation

  • Develop and manage data models using Dataverse, SharePoint, SQL Server, Oracle, and other enterprise data sources

  • Create custom connectors and integrations between Power Platform solutions, APIs, and third-party systems

  • Collaborate with business analysts and end users to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions

  • Design intuitive user interfaces that follow user experience best practices

  • Implement security roles, data loss prevention policies, and platform governance standards

  • Develop and maintain Power Fx formulas to support application functionality and business logic

  • Design, build, and publish Power BI reports, dashboards, and visualizations

  • Develop and manage Power BI datasets, data models, DAX measures, and Power Query transformations

  • Integrate Power BI solutions into Power Apps and Microsoft Teams environments

  • Manage Power BI workspaces, datasets, scheduled refreshes, and row-level security

  • Troubleshoot and resolve application, integration, database, and reporting issues

  • Document application architecture, workflows, technical specifications, and support processes

  • Provide training and support to end users and citizen developers

  • Stay current on Microsoft Power Platform capabilities, enhancements, and best practices

What You'll Need

Required:

  • 5+ years of software development experience

  • Strong experience with Microsoft Power Apps, including canvas and model-driven applications

  • Experience developing Power Automate workflows and business process automations

  • Strong experience with SQL Server and Oracle databases

  • Experience creating database objects including stored procedures, functions, views, and tables

  • Strong SQL development and query optimization skills

  • Experience with Dataverse, SharePoint, and enterprise data integrations

  • Experience integrating applications using APIs and custom connectors

  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI including dashboards, reports, DAX, and Power Query

  • Knowledge of Power Fx development and Power Platform governance

  • Experience gathering requirements and working directly with business stakeholders

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication and documentation skills

Preferred:

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams integrations

  • Experience implementing data loss prevention policies and security governance standards

$80 - $85 per hour
