Our mission is to make research possible. That starts by employing a talented and highly qualified group of experts that develop the tools to support research scientists. 

Currently, we are looking to add an Associate Scientist to the team:

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Perform diverse organic syntheses, purifications, and characterizations of compounds.
  • Isolate and identify desired product from complex mixtures.
  • Prepare accurate and complete QC data packets prior to compound submission.
  • Write SOPs and transfer standardized products to internal Chemistry Core team.
  • Work cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Report status of work to direct supervisor on a stepwise basis.
  • Read scientific literature with accuracy and understanding.
  • May hold specialized essential duties within the functions of the department.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Chemistry or related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant lab experience.
  • Strong computer skills and proficiency with chemistry related software.
  • A fundamental understanding of chemistry and familiarity with analytical techniques for product purification and characterization.
  • Ability to perform and interpret analytical data, including but not limited to: 1H and 13C NMR, mass spec, UV, and HPLC.
  • Ability to complete complex lab calculations.
  • Basic understanding of and compliance with laboratory safety.
  • Availability to work on-site during normal business hours.
