Job description

Job Summary

Generate all engineering data to include drawings, work orders and material travelers for production. Assist sales when required to establish labor costs. Maintain drawing files, and assist the manufacturing manager with scheduling issues.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, and Key Accountabilities

  • Determines and sources raw materials needed to produce parts when required.
  • Distributes work orders to shop for processing.
  • Generates and approves all drawings, work orders and material travelers needed for manufacturing.
  • Enters and maintains all job orders into time keeping system for job costing.
  • Receives all work orders into inventory.
  • Maintains drawing files in system.
  • Generates all required reports for work orders and work order system.
  • Assists inventory control when required.

Nature and Scope

  • Refers complex, unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Under general supervision, exercises some judgment in accordance with well-defined policies, procedures, and techniques. Work typically involves regular review of output by a senior coworker or supervisor.
  • None.

Work Environment

  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment that may be heavy (50+ pounds) or awkward.
  • Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

  • HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred. Specialized skills training/certification may be required. Generally 2-5 years of experience in area of responsibility.
