Responsibilities

The Med Clinic Nurse (Registered Nurse/RN) provides clinical and administrative support to our fast-paced multi state Psychiatric Med Clinic Program.

  • Assists with front office duties such as inbound/outbound calls, voicemails, faxes, scheduling, referrals and verifying insurance.
  • Ensures that demographics and insurance is up to date in the Electronic Health Record.
  • Maintains email communication with patients, coworkers, and outside agencies daily.
  • Assists with sending and completing forms such as screening tools, intake paperwork, and consents.
  • Completes documents, Upload documents and Maintains the Electronic Health Record.
  • Submits refill requests to the practitioner, communicates and calls in approved refills to the Pharmacy while documenting efforts within the Electronic Health Record.
  • Monitors Medications and provide ongoing support and education regarding medications and diagnosis.
  • Completes nursing assessments while documenting and billing process notes in the Electronic Health Record
  • Serves as the clinical support liaison between practitioner, other professionals, and agencies as it relates to the patient.
  • Communicates with patients, colleagues, and other individuals (e.g. pharmacists, schools) to answer questions or explain information while addressing the patients’ needs and/or concerns.
  • Assists practitioners in submitting Prior Authorization (PA) requests for medication.
  • Assists in obtaining client lab results.
  • If on site, obtains vitals and completes forms.
  • If on site, the employee must independently transport self in his/her own vehicle to attend clinic days. Employee must agree and accept this job duty requires him/her to maintain a current driver’s license, a safe driving record, current vehicle insurance and always maintain his/her vehicle in safe operating condition.
  • Maintains patient and employee privacy in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Nursing, either Associate’s or Bachelor’s, is required.
  • Candidates must possess a valid Registered Nurse license in the state where they will provide services, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
