Job Summary: Provide compassionate, patient- and family-centered nursing care within a supportive environment that champions best practices and exceptional customer service. Essential Responsibilities:
- Fiscal Responsibility: Efficiently utilize resources and supplies to promote cost savings. Manage time effectively, delegate assignments, and schedule proactively based on patient acuity and census. Engage in ongoing education to support cost-effective practices.
- Quality: Participate in continuous quality improvement initiatives, including regulatory compliance and nurse-sensitive indicators. Demonstrate critical thinking, multitasking, and thorough documentation in all patient care situations. Apply evidence-based practices and make informed patient care assignments.
- Community Service & Patient Satisfaction: Represent the healthcare facility positively in community and organizational events. Actively contribute to patient satisfaction through rounding, timely responses, service recovery, and professionalism. Foster a therapeutic environment and support healthcare students.
- Patient Safety: Integrate safe patient care practices daily, including fall prevention, safe mobilization, medication administration, and patient identification. Report near misses and participate in safety improvement processes. Adhere to Just Culture principles, HIPAA, and national safety standards.
- Professional Growth: Demonstrate leadership through charge RN duties, mentoring, and precepting. Maintain licensure and pursue certifications, advanced degrees, and leadership opportunities. Stay current with practice standards and track professional development.
- Customer Service: Deliver holistic care based on relationship-based and unit nursing care models. Uphold customer service standards, address ethical concerns, and foster positive relationships with patients, visitors, and colleagues.
Education and Experience Required:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing is required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Proficient computer skills.
- Minimum of three years recent critical care nursing experience.
Mandatory Licensure/Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse licensure as required by the regional nursing board.
- Area-specific certifications such as ACLS, BLS, PALS, or specialty certifications to be obtained and maintained.
