Associate Research Scientist - Evidence Generation (Primary Data Collection)
Are you looking to work with a dynamic team of industry leading professionals in the HEOR space? Is your passion leading research studies that improve healthcare outcomes worldwide? Our Evidence Generation team is hiring an Associate Research Scientist to join our team of research professionals conducting primary data collection studies in the pharmaceutical and biotech space; contributing to study execution, problem solving, and supporting both qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis efforts.
About You:
  • You have an interest in health economics and outcomes research and a basic understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and medical affairs, with a willingness to learn how to identify client needs and considerations.
  • You have experience supporting activities that contribute to collecting data from multiple types of stakeholders in the healthcare ecosystem: patients, caregivers, providers, payers and policy makers.
  • You have experience conducting literature reviews, scientific writing, supporting data synthesis and interpretation, and deliverable creation.
  • You have experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis tasks, including supporting the development of data collection materials (e.g., surveys, interview discussion guides), familiarity with qualitative analysis software (e.g., NVivo, Dedoose) and quantitative programs (e.g., Excel, R, SAS, or Stata), and experience with qualitative and quantitative data interpretation and visualization.
  • You assist with the implementation of research plans and methodologies, working closely with team members to support study execution and project coordination.
  • You have strong verbal and visual communication skills and can support the development of client-ready presentation materials (e.g., slide decks) to convey insights to internal and external stakeholders.

About The Role:
As an Associate Research Scientist on the Evidence Generation team, you will contribute to multiple projects, working with cross-functional teams across mixed-methods research approaches and a range of therapeutic areas.
  • Study Execution: Support all aspects of execution of primary data collection research studies, including literature reviews; development of data collection instruments (e.g., surveys, interview guides); study protocols; data collection; data analysis and interpretation; and support dissemination activities.
  • Deliverable Creation: Contribute to the development of project deliverables under the guidance of senior team members with methodological and subject matter expertise.
  • Project Management: Assist with the delivery of project components by collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality outputs and help maintain project timelines for assigned tasks.
  • Client Management: Support client engagement activities by drafting update slides for regular client meetings with guidance from senior team members, and documenting meeting notes, action items, and next steps.
  • Business Development: Contribute to proposal and presentation development by drafting background sections, task descriptions, timelines, and references with guidance from senior team members.

Required Experience:
  • Master's degree or PhD in a subject related to health services research e.g., health economics, public policy, health policy, epidemiology, biostatistics, public health or related discipline
  • 1-2 years of relevant prior research experience, including research conducted for undergraduate or graduate programs
  • Proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods, including experience in data analysis platforms/programs (e.g. Dedoose, NVivo, R, SAS, Stata)
  • Ability to work effectively individually and as part of a diverse team
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to meet deadlines and balance competing demands
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Helpful Experience:
  • Previous consulting or internship experience (preferred but not required)
  • Strong willingness to learn, grow, and share knowledge with team members

This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Precision, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, health insurance, retirement savings benefits, life insurance and disability benefits, parental leave, and paid time off for sick leave and vacation, among other benefits.

$66,000-$94,000 USD
