Job description

Provide concierge-level delivery of financial services through superior hands-on contact for Bank customers. These clients are high-income earners or high-net-worth clients.  This is accomplished through customized credit, deposit, investment, insurance, and fiduciary solutions in a team dynamic.

THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO THE GREATER HOUSTON AREA.

This position may be filled at Level I or Level II.  Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.


  • Coordinates entire credit approval process, including loan approval within lending authority for consumer and commercial relationships, including partnering with mortgage expert. Seek advice and guidance on complex credit requests
  • Services a loan portfolio, including credit and collateral exceptions and past dues
  • Work with partners to provide deposit solutions and other retail services to meet the needs of our clients
  • Work with team to provide non-bank solutions to meet the clients needs: Planning, investments, insurance, and fiduciary services
  • Coordinate the development of new private banking business and call on potential or existing customers to develop new business and promote company services and solutions.
  • Maintain professional community relations, including leadership roles, to increase the bank’s visibility and new business opportunities, and to further professional development.
  • Provide financial and banking advice and counseling through a team approach to Trustmark’s “BEST” clients.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilites for Level II:

  • Cross-train, lead and develop team of associates to promote maximum productivity, engagement, succession planning and overall contribution to strategic organizational goals.

  • Four-year college education or equivalent work experience.
  • 5 years banking experience or related work experience to include previous lending experience
  • Knowledgeable of Private Banking and the bank financial products and services
  • Knowledge of deposit and loan products, as well as bank policy
  • Knowledge of document preparation and new accounts systems
  • Knowledge of negotiable instruments
  • Complete understanding of the requirements of properly securing a loan
  • Familiar with state and federal regulations and bank policies relating to credit
  • Knowledge of sales principles
  • Knowledge of Basic investment strategies implemented by High net worth clients
  • Knowledge of Basic estate planning strategies implemented by High net worth clients
  • Knowledge of Basic insurance strategies implemented by High net worth clients
  • Superior judgment in making loan decisions
  • Experience dealing with sophisticated clientele
  • Experience in recognizing and handling troubled loans and problem customers
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of loan and deposit debits and credits
  • Strong analytical ability
  • Advanced interpersonal skills
  • Must possess effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Prefer degree in Finance, Accounting, Insurance, Business, related field, or equivalent experience
  • Bank branch work preferred
  • Previous investment experience with 7, 63 or 66, and insurance licensure preferred

Additional Qualifications for Level II:

  • 7 years banking experience or related work experience to include previous lending experience
  • Thorough knowledge of Private Banking and the bank financial products and services
  • Preferably commercial lending banking experience or related work

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions:  Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
