Job description

Thrive Counseling Center Associate Level Provider Position

At Thrive Counseling Center, we believe that our clients deserve nothing less than exceptional services and support. We also believe that the time between graduation and licensure is a time rich with opportunities to develop your clinical skills, as well as an opportunity to explore who you are as a therapist: what kind of clients do you love to work with? What kind of theoretical orientations or approaches to therapy do you want to learn more about? How do you manage (and thrive) within the energy balance of supporting others while also having a fulfilling personal life?

Our work culture weaves the values of support, balance, integrity, stability, diversity, healthy communication, and love of learning into all that we do.

Our Associate Therapists benefit from being part of our established practice, having access to exceptional supervision and support, all while exercising their passion for therapy and counseling, but without having to spend the extraordinary amount of time on administrative tasks that come from being on your own.

We are currently hiring Associate Level Providers (or soon to be Associate Level Providers) who have a passion for their work, and who want to be part of a team-based work atmosphere. Our Associate providers are able to decide on the caseload size that is preferable to their financial, licensure, and personal needs.

We are currently hiring providers who will maintain a minimum average of 80+ client/hours per month (this works out to approximately 20 sessions per week). Our providers are in control of how many client/hours they would like to see above the minimum. Applicants should have availability to work 3-5 days a week, inclusive of a Saturday or Sunday and/or evening hours (4-8/9 pm).

Specific areas of experience and/or interest in gaining experience we are looking for:

  • LGBTQ+ affirming providers interested in working with teens, and/or couples, and/or adults
  • Trauma-informed providers to work with all ages
  • Child, Teen, and Family Providers with a love of supporting our younger clients and their families
  • Experience or interest in working with Neurodivergent clients experiencing Autism Spectrum Disorders, ADD/HD,
  • Executive Functioning Struggles, and/or other challenges that come with being neurodivergent in a neurotypical world
  • Marriage and Couples Therapy Specialization

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform clinical counseling services to clients of Thrive Counseling Center as scheduled, in compliance with applicable rules and regulations, and in accordance with Practice policies.
  • Maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and ethics in all aspects of one's work with clients, colleagues, and others.
  • Respond to clients' correspondence in a timely manner.
  • Complete records and reports on time for each client in alignment with Practice policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate a strong sense of case conceptualization.
  • Conduct counseling services in a professional manner to maintain and increase the goodwill and reputation of the Practice.
  • Provide a high level of client service.
  • Work closely with supervisor and other Practice leaders in developing clinical services.
  • Maintain a sense of curiosity and compassion, demonstrated in communications and interactions.

Position Requirements:

  • Associate License (or soon to be) in Washington State (LMHCA, LMFTA, LAICSW, Licensed Clinical Psychologist)
  • 1 year of directly related work experience
  • Residing in Washington State or having concrete plans to relocate to WA state
  • Availability to provide counseling services during the days/times that our clients can most typically attend sessions (mid/late afternoon-evenings and/or weekend days)
  • No history of enforcement on your current or previous professional licenses and no potential conflict of interest in working at Thrive.

Why Join Thrive?

We take care of our people so you can take care of others. Clinicians enjoy a robust salary & benefits package and Thrive-style perks designed to support you professionally and personally.

As an associate provider, you can expect starting pay at about $45-50,000+ per year for 20 clinical sessions per week. This is our foundation, and your pay is directly tied to the number of sessions you complete. As you build a full-time caseload, your earnings can grow significantly, with top-performing licensed providers making $90,000+ annually.

We understand that compensation is more than just a salary, which is why we've built a comprehensive benefits package that adds an average of $18,000 in value to your total compensation.

  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision with 75% of premiums covered.
  • Financial Support: 401K with a 4% match, plus a new Student Loan Repayment Program to help pay down debt.
  • Professional Development: We pay for your malpractice insurance and professional license, and offer up to $1,200/year for specialty training.
  • Flexibility: We offer generous paid time off and a flexible schedule you can build to suit your life.
  • Administrative Relief: Our dedicated admin and billing teams handle the logistics so you can focus on clinical work.

And of course — the Thrive intangibles: a supportive leadership team, a Culture of Care that prioritizes your growth, a beautiful and engaging office to work in, and opportunities to shape the next generation of clinicians in meaningful ways.
