The Associate Product Developer is responsible for supporting the development team by developing materials and trims, building and maintaining accurate BOM's, maintaining costs in accordance with financial objectives, communicating adjustments and corrections to overseas offices/suppliers, overseeing sampling (complete to commercialized product), resolving any issues that may arise, and providing insight and feedback to the Design team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsible for development of product category from proto stage to final production to ensure quality standards are met per calendar timeline.
  • Responsible for working with manager on style pre-costing and analyze all subsequent prototype costing to ensure yield, material costs, and FOB's are accurate and meet margin objectives.
  • Fully evaluate development samples, including measuring, evaluating overall quality, construction, materials, and tech pack adherence.
  • Perform daily communications with vendors and suppliers both overseas and domestically.
  • Partner with materials team to ensure quality and execution of fabrics and trims are met.
  • Manage accurate style details in PLM system.
  • Work with managers on style buy ready status
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including design, sourcing, merchandising, and quality assurance, to ensure alignment and execution of development objectives.
  • Assist QC team to perform garment and trim testing as necessary.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Applications
  • Knowledge of PLM system(s)
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Knowledge of garment fit, measurement, and pattern alterations
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to interpret design intent and offer alternative solutions
  • Ability to prioritize workflow based on deadlines
  • Ability to problem solve and communicate all issues to cross functional departments
  • Ability to travel internationally

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's Degree or technical trade school and / or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in accessories and men's apparel product development
