What You'll Do

Essential job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values

  • Prospects, qualifies, and closes new commercial accounts which meet IMA criteria
  • Identifies a target industry and/or market segment to focus network building, prospecting, and development of specialized knowledge and expertise on common coverage situations, industry trends, and upcoming developments in commercial insurance impacting target clients
  • Conducts needs review during initial and subsequent qualifying interviews with prospects
  • Identifies and engages as appropriate internal resources for prospects qualified through needs review, coordinates resources, and leads strategy meetings to determine the best approach for new account acquisition
  • Takes full ownership of the execution of the final proposal presentation, including preparation of proposal material, coordinating participation of various IMA team members, leading the actual presentation effort, and closing the sale
  • Proactively identifies and coordinates cross selling opportunities with other sales units at IMA
  • Enters and maintains all required information in Salesforce CRM
  • In partnership with an Account Servicing team, maintains client contacts to assure account retention

You Should Have

Required experience and skills include but are not limited to:

  • 5+ years of direct business to business selling highly preferred
  • Track record of exceeding sales expectations demonstrated through documentation, recognition, or through specific examples shared during the interview process
  • Experience in Commercial Insurance preferred but not required, with preference given to expertise in both Commercial Property & Casualty and Group Benefits experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must either currently hold, or within 90 days of hire attain, Property & Casualty, and Life & Health licenses for the appropriate state of business and fulfill continuing education requirements to retain licensing
  • Basic experience with MS Office products, specifically PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, and Excel required, intermediate aptitude preferred

Salary Range $75,000$150,000 USD
