About the Role
We are looking for a motivated Manufacturing Technician to join our Fabrics Coatings team and work the 2nd Shift. In this role, you will need to understand and apply the team's fundamental technology. This commitment provides the opportunity to join an established team and help ensure that we are meeting our operations objectives and business needs. Standard hours will be 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM Monday through Friday.
This position will be located at our facility in Elkton, Maryland.
Pay and Benefits:
  • $19 - $32 per hour
  • This role is eligible for an additional $2/hr shift differential pay for evening, night, and weekend shifts.

Responsibilities
  • Learn, support, practice the Gore culture.
  • Follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot complex manufacturing equipment with a focus on producing quality products and achieving team production goals.
  • Interact and connect with a cross functional group, including shop associates, process engineers, and new product development engineers.
  • Make informed product quality decisions based on product documentation.
  • Understand our quality systems to ensure processes and procedures are followed so we consistently deliver products that meet customer needs and expectations.
  • Identify and actively participate in continuous improvement efforts.
  • Understand and adhere to basic work instructions and procedures, while providing suggestions for improvement.
  • Perform computer data entry (Nemo, EAM, and HMI Interface).
  • Understand and apply the team's fundamental technology as it applies to manufacturing and testing.

Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience operating and maintaining complex equipment.
  • Attentiveness to detail, good documentation and record keeping skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). Can identify, conceptualize, and solve problems.
  • Ability to follow and advocate safety practices, including the use of personal protective equipment.
  • Adapt to changes in production schedule and shift to other manufacturing areas on short notice.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and alternate between shifts to meet business needs, sometimes with short notice.
  • Work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Able to perform basic math and computer transactions with ability to learn more advanced computer applications.
  • Abilityto safely work in elevated, confined, or restricted spaces with entrance points as small as 21", including climbing ladders, transitioning onto platforms with limited clearance, maneuvering in tight areas, and maintaining balance and stability while performing tasks in constrained workspaces.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including reaching overhead up to 77", reaching around obstacles, crawling under clearances as low as 29", kneeling or crouching for extended periods while maintaining full range of motion, and lifting 35 pounds several times over an 8-hour period.
