Job description

Principal Associate, Associate & Partner Pipeline Management-CI&I

Principal Associate, Associate & Partner Pipeline Management-CI&I

Community Impact and Investment (CI&I) is in the midst of a multiyear transformation to increasingly align business strategy and social impact; launch new, different, and more holistic approaches to investing in our communities; use Capital One's volunteer time and talent in increasingly strategic ways; and use data, analytics, research, and inclusive design to inform more targeted and actionable consulting to our business partners on topics related to a broad view of financial inclusion.

We're seeking a Principal Associate to join our Social Impact Volunteerism (SIV) team. The Social Impact Volunteerism (SIV) team is charged with designing and executing volunteer programs that support Capital One's bold impact agenda. We design programs that connect Capital One associates with nonprofits, small businesses, and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) to amplify their organizational capacity and community impact. This is a team of changemakers dedicated to empowering our associates to give back through diverse social impact programs, leveraging their unique skills and passions to strengthen communities.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

Strategic Planning & Insights

  • Establish and continuously improve scalable pipeline processes to support operations across SIV programs

  • Lead the insights strategy to deeply understand and evaluate the customer experience (CX) and effectiveness of SIV pipeline management processes

  • Use customer journey mapping to visualize and optimize the end-to-end SIV experience for associates and partners

Partner Pipeline Sourcing & Market Engagement

  • Lead the end-to-end partner sourcing and vetting pipeline building a portfolio of nonprofit, CDFI, and small business partners aligned to SIV program priorities

  • Partner strategically with the Market Engagement team to co-create and execute a localized, data-informed strategy for partner cultivation and placement

  • Develop comprehensive partner UX and retention frameworks, maximizing long-term relationship health and ensuring a high quality experience

Associate Pipeline & Experience Optimization

  • Partner with Associate Activation team and Lines of Business to increase Associate Awareness of SIV programs, driving a steady influx of volunteers to support program scaling

  • Optimize the cross-program associate matching architecture that effectively connects associate skills and interests with program and partner needs

  • Oversee employee engagement and retention metrics, identifying friction points in the volunteer journey and program experience to improve satisfaction

We want you if you are:

  • Impact-driven. You dream big. You desire to make the world a better place, and you get energy from working with others with similar passions to accomplish big, bold goals.

  • Wired for Collaboration and Connection. You thrive in a matrixed organization because you know that together we can do better. You're obsessed with building and cultivating relationships. You have a proven track record of building solutions co-delivered across teams.

  • Customer Focused. You care about doing what's best for the community and for Capital One's associates. You don't shy away from hard conversations or nuanced decision making because you know the best outcomes often go hand in hand with tough decisions. For the sake of the associate experience, you are comfortable holding your partners and your own team accountable for results.

  • Relationship Architect. You excel at building trust and creating shared value between corporate teams and external community partners, seeing both sides of the equation to drive mutual success.

  • Process Oriented. You loathe inefficient processes and look for ways to streamline and document everything you touch. You enjoy creating new processes when it is needed.

  • Innovator at Heart: You're a natural problem solver who thrives on creative challenges, consistently seeking innovative solutions and thinking outside the box to drive impactful results.

  • Do-er. You're biased toward action, you try things and sometimes you fail. You can get around your own roadblocks and you remove obstacles for your team to stay focused on enterprise goals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or military experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, program management or process management

  • At least 1 year of experience in customer experience and human-centered design

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of Project Management experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Pro Bono or Social Impact programming

  • 2+ years of experience working for a for-profit company

  • Community organizing, nonprofit, or political experience
