Transport Refrigeration, Inc. is a locally owned and rapidly growing Thermo King dealership that has proudly served the trucking and transportation industry since 1964. We specialize in transport temperature control equipment and provide industry-leading service and support throughout Wisconsin.

We are currently looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Madison, WI location. What You’ll Do

As the Operations Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our Service and Parts departments while helping drive growth, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and develop associates
Manage daily Service and Parts operations
Monitor productivity and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Interview, hire, onboard, and train new associates
Conduct performance reviews and coaching
Ensure workplace safety and OSHA compliance
Build and maintain strong customer relationships
Lead weekly staff and shop meetings
Manage schedules, timecards, and on-call rotations
Oversee building, grounds, and equipment maintenance
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Assist with customer payments and administrative processes
Partner with the sales team to support business growth


What We’re Looking For

Preferred Experience

 Management or supervisory experience of a dealership, diesel, trailer or service repair shop (3+ years preferred)
Background in trucking, trailers, heavy equipment, or agriculture industries
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience with Microsoft Office 365
Safety-focused mindset
Excellent organization and time management abilities

Additional Qualifications

Valid driver’s license
Ability to learn company software systems quickly
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Willingness to travel occasionally for training and meetings
Ability to work additional hours when needed

OSHA 10, OSHA 30, or OSHA 511 certifications are a plus.
