Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer I
Position Description: Protingent Staffing has an exciting direct hire Manufacturing Engineer I opportunity.
Job Description:
  • The Manufacturing Engineer I develops and improves manufacturing processes by studying product and manufacturing methods.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate manufacturing processes; apply knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; confer with equipment vendors; solicit observations from operators
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; research, design, modify and test manufacturing methods and equipment; confer with equipment vendors
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; test finished product and process capabilities; establish standards; confirm manufacturing processes
  • Provide manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor material costs; review production schedules; estimate future requirements
  • Prepare product and process reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Provide manufacturing engineering information by answering questions and requests
  • Maintain product and company reputation by complying with industry regulations
  • Maintain product and process database by writing computer programs and entering data
  • Complete design and development projects by training and guiding technicians
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as required
  • Build prototypes including machining parts; and provide redesign improvements and value engineering
  • Coordinate maintenance and repair services for equipment per manufacturer's recommendations; requesting special service as needed
  • Anticipate capacity needs and develop plans to meet growth projections
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge via educational workshops, professional publications, personal networks, professional societies
  • ISO, FDA, EPA, and OSHA compliance within scope of work
  • DMR and MRB support

Job Qualifications:
  • Associates degree in Manufacturing Engineering or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years of experience in manufacturing
  • Machining, Die Casting, Injection Molding, and Sheet Metal
  • Design Manufacturability
  • Effective written and interpersonal communication
  • CAD experience is required, SolidWorks
  • Strong competency in spreadsheets and word processing
  • Competent use of measurement devices such as calipers, micrometers, and voltmeters
  • General knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC)
