Overview
This position is responsible for loading, unloading, weighing, and tracking rail cars safely within the yard. Will require being able to operate multiple pieces of heavy equipment.
Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety policies and procedures
  • Operate a track mobile, material handler, and front-end loader
  • Use excel and e-mail to track rail cars and communicate with the rail department
  • Understand and track orders for rail shipment
  • Fill in at other yard positions as needed and time allows

Qualifications
Required
  • Previous heavy equipment experience
  • Have ability to lift up to 50lbs on a repetitive basis.
  • Ability to work in all types of weather conditions.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills. .
  • A clear understanding and adherence to safety regulations.
  • Ability to work 1st shift hours w/OT and work on Saturdays.
  • Self-motivated, team player dedicated to the organization.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, including speaking clearly over a two-way radio.
  • Good decision-making skills in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.

Preferred
  • Knowledge of scrap is a plus.
