Position Summary

Vista Equity Partners is seeking a highly technical and execution-oriented leader to transform how Legal & Compliance operates through technology, automation, artificial intelligence, and data-driven process redesign.

Reporting to Information Technology and serving as the dedicated technology leader for Legal & Compliance, this individual will identify, design, build, and implement technology solutions that modernize operations, reduce dependency on external vendors and outside counsel, increase transparency, and create scalable processes across the firm.

The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong business acumen and leadership skills. They will be expected to work directly with attorneys, compliance professionals, operations teams, and technology teams to redesign fragmented workflows, automate manual processes, develop AI-enabled solutions, and establish integrated platforms that serve as a single source of truth across multiple business functions.

This is a highly visible individual contributor role requiring exceptional influence, execution, and problem-solving skills. While the position will not have direct reports, it will be expected to lead complex initiatives across multiple stakeholder groups and deliver measurable business outcomes.

Responsibilities

TECHNOLOGY TRANSFORMATION & STRATEGY

  • Develop and execute a multi-year Legal & Compliance technology transformation roadmap.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify operations, reduce costs, and improve scalability.
  • Establish technology priorities aligned with business objectives.

AI & AUTOMATION

  • Lead AI strategy and implementation efforts for Legal & Compliance.
  • Design, build, and deploy AI-powered solutions and intelligent workflows.
  • Evaluate large language models, agentic AI solutions, document intelligence, and automation platforms.
  • Reduce dependency on external vendors through technology-enabled capabilities.

PROCESS REENGINEERING

  • Analyze and redesign end-to-end workflows across Legal, Compliance, Finance, Investor Services, Operations, and Technology.
  • Transform fragmented processes into integrated operating models and a single source of truth.

PROGRAM LEADERSHIP

  • Lead complex cross-functional initiatives from concept through implementation.
  • Manage project plans, stakeholder alignment, risks, budgets, and delivery.

DATA & ANALYTICS

  • Establish data governance, reporting, and analytics capabilities.
  • Build dashboards and performance metrics to improve decision-making.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

  • 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, software engineering, solution architecture, automation, or digital transformation.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing AI and machine learning solutions.
  • Deep understanding of generative AI, large language models, prompt engineering, agentic workflows, and AI governance.
  • Experience designing workflow automation, integrations, APIs, and enterprise applications.
  • Proven ability to lead large-scale transformation initiatives.
  • Exceptional project and program management skills.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders without direct authority.

PREFERRED

  • Experience supporting Legal, Compliance, Risk, Privacy, or Regulatory functions.
  • Experience within private equity, asset management, or financial services.
  • Knowledge of legal operations technology, compliance platforms, and regulatory systems.
  • Familiarity with data governance, information security, privacy, and regulatory frameworks.

The annualized base pay range for this role is expected to be between $90,000 - $140,000. Actual base pay could vary based on factors including but not limited to experience, subject matter expertise, geographic location where work will be perfomed and the applicant's skill set. The base pay is just one component of the total compensation package for employees. Other components may include an annual cash bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
