Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for aQuality Inspector 2tojoin our team of qualified, diverse individuals supporting the Aircraft Dominance division. This role is located inHopkinton, MA.

Performs required mechanical inspections on machined parts as well as visual inspections on brazed, plated, and painted assemblies. This job works under general supervision. Work is performed within the confines of standardized Company and industry policies, practices and procedures. This job has decision-making responsibilities with regard to the acceptance or rejection of work and tests performed and the determination of measuring equipment used. Inspections vary from close tolerance dimensional checks to general surveillance of the work in progress.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Perform in-process and final inspections and end-item data package review.

  • Perform detailed mechanical inspections at the piece part level as well as the assembly and sub-assembly level.

  • Generate nonconformance reports for discrepancies discovered during inspection processes.

  • Perform internal audits of work areas and processes to ensure compliance with Northrop Grumman QMS procedures & AS9100.

  • Perform safety audits.

  • Maintain necessary inspection records.

  • Oversee Calibration process.

  • Facilitate Customer Source Inspections.

  • First Article Inspection Reports per AS9102.

  • Uphold quality standards and workmanship practices in assigned work centers by learning process specifications and employing quality workmanship standards during everyday job functions.


Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma and 2 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance, Electrical, or Mechanical field,

  • Must be able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions,

  • Experience in the use of Microsoft applications and ability to learn new computer programs/applications.

  • Your ability to obtain and/or transfer and maintain the final adjudicated Secret Clearance and any program access(es) required for the position within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associates degree in a STEM discipline.

  • Working knowledge of SAP MRP system.

  • Previous experience working for an ISO-certified company.

Primary Level Salary Range: $51,400.00 - $85,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
