As a Corporate Banking Associate in the Infrastructure, Credit Capital Markets team at National Bank of Canada, you will provide specialized support for analyzing, structuring, and originating complex corporate and project finance credit transactions. You will be responsible for carrying out detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis in order to provide the information needed to make corporate and project finance credit decisions. The range of sector coverage includes transportation, social, digital, and utility/environmental within the infrastructure space in both Canada and the US. Coverage will include P3, project, and asset level financing, as well as general corporate and sponsor/developer financing. The Associate position will appeal to highly motivated individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in a demanding, fast-pace, entrepreneurial and high-growth capital markets environment. Your Job Support senior members of the Credit Capital Markets team on a variety of risk management and credit-based financing related activities Principal activities include financial, statistical and industry analysis, as directed by the more senior members of the product and coverage teams Preparation of credit underwriting materials for use in internal credit assessment and adjudication Participate in internal meetings on a variety of matters, and in external client meetings and pitches, as appropriate Work within a collaborative team environment that includes partnership and interaction with colleagues in investment banking, syndications, risk management, and other capital market product groups Emphasis is placed on analysis, financial modeling and written presentations Ability to interact effectively and build relationships with clients, colleagues, and other advisors Develop a strong foundation of required internal systems/processes and look to support continuous improvement and growth initiatives Stay informed on key trends, events and developments relating to sector coverage Your Team This position reports to the Managing Director & Head, Credit Capital Markets, based in Toronto.
