This position will sit hybrid in our Dallas office

The role encompasses a wide range of activities, including reinsurance pricing analysis, interaction with our Broking teams, client interaction as well as research projects. This broad-based introduction to the reinsurance sector will position you for significant future growth opportunities within our firm.ย

How you'll make an impact

As an Assistant Vice President, you will provide actuarial reinsurance pricing and dynamic portfolio optimization support for our clients and prospects. Line of business focus: Personal lines Property (Cat and Non-Cat), Casualty, and Medical Malpractice.

For the right candidate, there is opportunity to manage junior analysts on the team.ย 

Account Analysis & Support:ย 

  • Perform actuarial analysis to develop loss model for client business, estimate reinsurance pricing, and determine optimal reinsurance structures given client risk profile and underwriting strategyย 
  • Present analyses in clear terms appropriate to the audienceย 
  • Provide value-added service to clients as neededย 
  • Market Research and Developmentย 
  • Assist in market and line of business studies to credentialize Gallagher Re as thought leader in reinsurance and primary marketplaceย 
  • Work closely with other analytical associates across Gallagher Re, including other actuaries, catastrophe modelers, rating agency advisory, ERM and capital markets associatesย

  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and other softwareย 
  • Skilled in R and Pythonย

About You

Required:ย 

  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; 5+ yearsโ€™ related experienceย 
  • ACAS or FCASย 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and R and/or Pythonย 
  • Moderate travel required, including some overnight travel.ย 
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and work outside or normal business hours as required.ย 
  • Ability to perform work on varied customer properties; entails negotiating non-public access areas, climbing, lifting, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.ย
