Job description

*This position operates during the hours 3:00pm to 11:30pm.*
Performs assembly and packaging operations in the ICC Value Added production area to produce cable connectors and related accessories in an efficient and timely manner by performing the duties outlined below. Perform duties in support of other functions within the company as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Other duties as assigned.
  • Working from detailed instructions, assemble, mark, kit, and package the specified components utilizing appropriate methods, tools, and fixtures.
  • Regularly monitor process for defects, isolate non-conforming material and promptly notify supervisor of "out of specification" conditions.
  • Work at different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor.
  • Assists with on-the-job training of new associates or contract laborers.
  • Maintain lot and batch integrity throughout the assembly process. Record lot number and/or manufacturer information on production orders and pick tickets as required.
  • Generate appropriate labels for product identification.
  • Assist with maintaining the tools and equipment used in the VAD production area.
  • Work in a manner that promotes efficient handling and minimizes waste.
  • Perform periodic audits (cycle counting) to monitor inventory accuracy.
  • Adhere to the principles of "5 S" to maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Participate in company sponsored training and process improvement activities.
  • Complying with all ICC Policies as defined in the ICC Employee Handbook.
  • Pursuing continuous improvement through training and process improvement.
  • Complies with all applicable elements of ICC Quality Management System.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment a plus.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • U.S. Person (ITAR This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). To perform the position, you must be a U.S. Person as defined by ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Ability to perform repetitive activities while maintaining good attention to detail.
  • Hand-eye coordination.

Distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, ability to adjust focus and ability to distinguish colors and color variation of physical parts and components, and in documentation such as work instructions and engineering drawings.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
