Job description

Associate Developer, Agentic Customer Experience
Charlotte, NC
Hybrid Role (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)
Compensation: $30 - $32 per hour
ABOUT THE ROLE
Join Brooksource's Elevate Workforce Transformation Program as an Associate Developer, Agentic Customer Experience, working onsite with a Fortune 100 telecommunications client in Charlotte, NC. This early-career opportunity places you at the forefront of building the next generation of customer experience through AI-powered conversational agents for both voice and chat. You'll help design and implement a greenfield, Gemini-powered agentic platform, supporting the migration of customer journeys from legacy systems to a modern, omnichannel solution. This is a unique chance to work with advanced conversational AI, receive tailored technical training, and grow into a specialist as the platform scales. The role offers a hybrid schedule, comprehensive benefits, and a structured path for career advancement, all within a collaborative and innovative environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Build, configure, and test conversational AI agents and customer journeys on a Gemini-powered agent platform.
  • Author agent behavior in natural language and connect tool calls and backend APIs so agents can complete real customer tasks (e.g., scheduling appointments, taking payments, troubleshooting connections).
  • Support the migration of customer journeys from legacy IVR and chat platforms to the new agentic platform, one use case at a time.
  • Write supporting code and integrations in Python, JavaScript, or Java as needed.
  • Test and improve agent performance, document best practices, and help define reusable design patterns and frameworks for the wider team.
  • Collaborate with developers, QA, and project managers to deliver production-ready, omnichannel customer experiences.
  • Work in a modern agentic development environment (e.g., Google Antigravity), leveraging AI assistance to accelerate development.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a closely related field.
  • Working knowledge of at least one programming language (Python, JavaScript, or Java) with an object-oriented foundation.
  • Hands-on development experience through coursework, personal projects, or internship.
  • Practical experience using large language models and comfort building with AI assistance; experience with more than one LLM is a plus.
  • Genuine curiosity about conversational AI, agentic systems, and customer experience design.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to learn new platforms quickly.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Preferred: Experience with AI-assisted or agentic IDEs (e.g., Google Antigravity or Kiro).
  • Preferred: Exposure to major cloud platforms (Google Cloud or AWS).
  • Preferred: Familiarity with APIs, web services, and integrations.
  • Preferred: Coursework or projects involving LLM applications, prompting, chatbots, or agent design.
  • Awareness of conversational AI or contact center concepts is a plus but not required.
WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Minimum of forty hours of tailored technical training, including agentic AI development, to set you up for success on the client's stack.
  • Dedicated mentorship and program management support throughout your engagement.
  • Access to a learning management system with 7,000+ technical courses and 40+ certification pathways.
  • A structured path to grow into a specialist on an emerging, high-demand technology.
  • Comprehensive benefits package including healthcare, 401(k), and PTO.
  • Contract engagement through Brooksource with long-term runway and potential for future conversion based on performance and business need.
