Job description

As an Diagnostic Software Developer, you will play a key role in developing guided diagnostic procedures and vehicle diagnostic software for heavy-duty commercial vehicle electronics. You will design, document, and implement diagnostic algorithms, software, and interfaces, while supporting product launches and driving continuous improvement in diagnostic quality and reliability. This is an excellent opportunity for a collaborative, technically skilled engineer to work across engineering, manufacturing, service, validation, IT, and supplier teams to deliver effective, user-focused diagnostic tools.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop guided diagnostic procedures within off-board diagnostics tool for heavy-duty commercial vehicle electronics.
  • Design, document and implement vehicle diagnostics algorithms, software, and interfaces.
  • Software development in a visual logic development environment using Agile methodology.
  • Support product launch at manufacturing facilities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and practices for high quality and reliable diagnostic systems.
  • Work with manufacturing, service, product development, information technology, suppliers, and product validation to ensure a seamless rollout of user-relevant, timesaving, effective tools.
  • Collaborate with internationally distributed teams to address global requirements and local content.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience with automotive electronic systems, including substantial hands‑on work with on‑ and off‑board diagnostics.
  • Experience in automotive electronic systems, preferably including extensive on- and off-board diagnostics development.
  • Experience with automotive or commercial vehicle networks, such as CAN, SAE J1939 and LIN preferred.
  • Experience with software development using object-oriented programming will be highly valued. - Python, Java, C++, C#, JavaScript/Typescript, Ruby, Swift
  • Candidates must be able to perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation, including preparing simplified drawings and diagrams for production and service is highly valued.
  • Willingness to grow personally and professionally.
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally up to 5%
