Job description

ESP Associates, Inc. is seeking an IT Help Desk Technician in our Victoria, TX office. This is an excellent opportunity for a service-oriented professional with some hands-on IT support experience who can work independently and take ownership of their role as part of a dynamic, collaborative IT team!

****This is not a remote role.****

Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical assistance and support to end users by responding to help desk tickets, running diagnostic programs, isolating problems and implementing solutions
  • Helping configure, build, upgrade, and deploy machines
  • Providing support to remote ESP offices
  • Prioritizing and managing daily tasks independently, with minimal day-to-day direction

Required Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of hands-on experience in a help desk, IT support, or similar technical role
  • Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership — able to identify what needs to be done and follow through without being prompted
  • Customer service attitude
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience with laptops, workstations, cell phones, printing systems, and hardware troubleshooting
  • Working knowledge of Windows 10, Windows 11, Microsoft Office, and Microsoft 365
  • Ability to work well in a highly collaborative, team setting
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities while supporting/communicating with IT teammates
  • Candidate must be able to pass a drug screen, background check, and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the company's driving (MVR) policy

Preferred:

  • Associate's Degree and/or 2+ years of experience in computer systems or corporate IT support
  • Experience with LAN/WAN support
  • Knowledge of VPN and other remote access systems
  • Experience with large-scale plotting systems
  • Experience with Microsoft Server 2016, 2019 and 2022
  • Experience with Hyper-V software and/or VM software

Physical Requirements:

  • Capable of walking various terrains, including inclines and declines.
  • Must be capable of carrying up to but not limited to 50lbs of equipment and or supplies throughout various locations.
  • Bending, kneeling, twisting and repetitive lifting of 20lbs are required
