The Job:

As an Associate Category Manager, you'll be part of our Outdoor Power Group (OPG) Category Management team as a hybrid employee based in Towson, MD office. This dynamic, analytical position will focus and assist in managing the Ride-On Product Portfolio. Our high-performing analytical team is responsible for driving margin growth, portfolio optimization and strategy through best-in-class analytics, insights, and reporting. As both a strategic and tactical function, we contribute directly to Stanley Black & Decker's success and remain steadfast in our pursuit of excellence in market.. You'll get to:

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:
    • Collect, clean, and analyze sales, inventory, and market data relevant to assigned product categories.
    • Support ad hoc reports to highlight trends, performance metrics, and opportunities. Assist in building regular reporting cadence materials.
  • Market & Competitor Analysis:
    • Gather and synthesize cross-functional insights to assess the competitive landscape, category trends, and market dynamics.
    • Identify opportunities and summarize findings in concise reports to support category strategy development.
  • Strategy Execution & Communication:
    • Assist Category Manager in translating market intelligence into actionable insights to drive category growth, product prioritization, and go-to-market plans.
    • Deliver category education & storytelling to internal parties
  • Financial Reporting and Tracking:
    • Support building a 3-year horizon and strategic estimate reflecting product assortment, margin mix, and wins/losses.
    • Provide category financial analysis for annual quoting and product line review process.
  • NPD & Core Product Pricing:
    • Partner with the pricing team to support the establishment of market-based pricing for NPD and Core SKUs annually.
    • Provide the pricing team with the required information to support pricing strategies.
  • Product Lifecycle Management:
    • Recommend and collaborate with product management teams on product lifecycle decisions, including margin analysis, SKU productivity, SKU rationalization, and product development prioritization.
    • Guide early-stage new product development to align with category strategy.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Identify and implement improvements to reporting processes, data management, or workflow efficiencies.

The Person:

  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a matrixed environment within brand marketing, finance or sales roles
  • 2+ years of demonstrated Channel Marketing, Revenue Growth Management, Analytics, or equivalent success
  • Excellent English communication, will be expected to collaborate with and influence teams cross-functionally on a regular cadence
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI; general proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Experience with Salesforce, SAP, Infor XA is preferred.
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and financial modeling skills include the ability to effectively utilize data from multiple sources to drive decisions.
  • Strong presentation & communication skills
  • Excellent time management and attention to details
  • Capable of fostering ongoing relationships with cross-functional partners, including Product Managers, Brand Managers, Category Directors, Channel Managers, Sales Account Managers, Product, and Pricing Managers, to facilitate collaboration and information sharing

The Salary range for this position is $51,700.00 - $83,300.00
