Business Systems Analyst
Las Vegas NV
Onsite

We are looking for an experienced Business Systems Analyst to work closely with business stakeholders, product owners, developers, QA teams, and technology teams to analyze business requirements and translate them into clear technical and functional solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with requirements gathering, process analysis, system integration, data analysis, SQL, API understanding, and Agile delivery.
Key Responsibilities
  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements through stakeholder discussions, workshops, and requirement walkthroughs.
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional and technical specifications for development and QA teams.
  • Create and maintain BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process flows, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
  • Analyze existing business processes and identify opportunities for system/process improvements and automation.
  • Work closely with developers, architects, QA, Product Owners, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Analyze system integrations, APIs, data flows, and downstream/upstream dependencies.
  • Write and execute SQL queries for data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
  • Review API specifications and support validation of REST/SOAP APIs, JSON/XML payloads, and system integrations.
  • Develop process flow diagrams, data flow diagrams, and system workflow documentation.
  • Support UAT planning, test case reviews, defect triage, and production validation.
  • Participate in Agile ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Work with stakeholders to define and validate acceptance criteria and business rules.
  • Perform gap analysis between current-state and future-state processes.
  • Support release planning, deployment validation, and post-production issue analysis.
  • Track requirements and defects using tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, Confluence, or similar platforms.

Required Technical Skills
  • 5+ years of Business Systems Analyst / Systems Analyst experience
  • Strong requirements gathering and business process analysis
  • SQL for data analysis and validation
  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs and system integrations
  • Understanding of JSON, XML, API requests/responses
  • Experience creating BRD, FRD, user stories, use cases, process flows, and data mapping
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC and Agile/Scrum
  • Experience with JIRA / Azure DevOps / Confluence
  • Strong understanding of database concepts and data flows
  • Experience working with QA teams, UAT, test cases, and defect management
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills

Compensation: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour
