POSITION OVERVIEW

John Boos & Co. is seeking a highly capable Associate Business Systems Analyst – EDI to support the coordination, delivery, administration, and continuous improvement of the company's Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) capabilities. This position will work 100% onsite at our offices in Effingham, Illinois, and under the guidance of senior IT personnel, will support and progressively assume responsibility for EDI projects across trading-partner onboarding, platform transitions, integrations, transaction flows, testing, issue resolution, and ongoing optimization.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Project & EDI Integration Management

  • Manage EDI projects from planning through implementation, stabilization, and support.
  • Coordinate trading partner onboarding, migrations, enhancements, and integrations.
  • Develop project plans, timelines, risk assessments, and readiness criteria.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, ERP resources, vendors, and trading partners.
  • Monitor project progress, communicate status, and elevate risks or resource constraints as needed.

Trading Partner Onboarding & Support

  • Coordinate onboarding, connectivity, mapping, testing, certification, and go-live activities.
  • Gather and document partner requirements, transaction specifications, and dependencies.
  • Ensure integrations align with enterprise standards and maintain visibility into onboarding progress and issues.

EDI Platform Administration & Operations

  • Support and administer EDI platforms within established governance practices.
  • Monitor transaction processing, acknowledgments, exceptions, and system performance.
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of mapping, data, connectivity, and integration issues.
  • Manage platform releases, configuration changes, and testing activities.
  • Recommend process improvements, platform enhancements, and corrective actions.

Business Analysis & Process Improvement

  • Partner with business leaders to translate operational needs into technology solutions.
  • Analyze EDI-enabled processes such as order-to-cash, procure-to-pay, shipping, and invoicing.
  • Gather and validate requirements, facilitate stakeholder discussions, and identify automation and standardization opportunities.

Testing, Quality & Data Management

  • Develop and coordinate test plans, certification activities, and go-live readiness assessments.
  • Validate transaction accuracy, ERP processing, and business outcomes.
  • Analyze data-related issues, support master data quality, and document data mappings and dependencies.

Documentation, Governance & Knowledge Transfer

  • Maintain comprehensive documentation for integrations, mappings, testing, support procedures, and project records.
  • Ensure compliance with architecture, cybersecurity, integration, and data governance standards.
  • Capture institutional knowledge, document undocumented processes, and support cross-training efforts to strengthen organizational capabilities.

Business & Operational Support

  • Serve as an IT point of contact for assigned EDI initiatives and operational issues.
  • Provide training, guidance, documentation, and support for EDI-enabled processes.
  • Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, trading partners, and vendors through effective communication and reliable support.

Authority & Scope

  • May independently manage assigned EDI projects, onboarding efforts, testing, documentation, and routine issue resolution.
  • May recommend EDI solutions, integration approaches, and process improvements.
  • Does not own EDI strategy, portfolio prioritization, enterprise standards, platform selection, or major cross-functional business decisions.
  • Operates under the guidance of senior IT personnel while developing toward broader EDI ownership and Business Systems Analyst responsibilities.

EDUCATION & TRAINING

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

  • Experience supporting EDI, enterprise applications, systems integration, business analysis, or related technology initiatives in a manufacturing, distribution, supply-chain, or similar environment; relevant internship, co-op, project, or applied systems experience may be considered.
  • Experience supporting or coordinating technology projects involving multiple business and technical stakeholders.
  • Experience gathering requirements, documenting business processes, coordinating testing, supporting implementations, and resolving production issues.
  • Understanding of EDI concepts, transaction flows, trading-partner relationships, system integrations, and business processes preferred.
  • Experience working with ERP systems, EDI platforms, APIs, file-based integrations, or other B2B integration technologies preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn complex technical and business environments and convert institutional knowledge into durable documentation and repeatable processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple EDI projects, trading-partner implementations, and operational priorities simultaneously.
