Position Summary

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for managing and maintaining the computer systems and networks of CNM. The role involves providing multi-level system administration and technical support for Windows, Linux, and VMware operating systems with minimal supervision. This position oversees the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software, ensure the security and efficiency of systems, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users. This position leads a team of system administrators and collaborate with other IT professionals to implement and optimize technology solutions. As a technical lead, the position requires providing historical knowledge and guidance on projects, procedures, daily activities, on-call duties, team interactions, scheduling, and documentation to subordinates. This role plays a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth operation and efficiency of CNM's computing infrastructure.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provides top-tier support for Microsoft, Linux, and VMware operating systems and services.

  • Installs, configures, and maintains server hardware and software for a stable computing environment.

  • Develops and maintains decentralized data backup infrastructure and disaster recovery solutions.

  • Manages user and group accounts, setting access rights for IT support personnel and end users.

  • Updates software and system configurations regularly.

  • Responds to zero-day exploits and critical vulnerabilities promptly.

  • Sets up and maintains servers and applications for enterprise services, databases, and web hosting.

  • Monitors system logs, login activity, and system performance across the network.

  • Administers cross-platform email systems and troubleshoots issues.

  • Researches new technologies and present recommendations on major and minor hardware and software purchases.

  • Ensures high availability and stability for Tier 1 systems.

  • Researches, installs, and tests software updates prior to deployment.

  • Provides technical leadership, guidance, and support to IT groups and stakeholders.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related industry and two (2) years of work experience

OR

  • Associate's degree ANDTwo (2) to (4) years of related industry experience

OR

  • Six (6) years of direct work experience with IT-related certification(s).

  • A combination of education and experience may be substituted for requirements of the position
