Our client, a growing and well-established organization in the Raleigh area, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional looking to expand their skill set, gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting, and work alongside an experienced finance team in a collaborative environment.

As the Staff Accountant, you will play a key role in supporting the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations.


Responsibilities

As the Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing and posting journal entries to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Performing bank, balance sheet, and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Assisting with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
  • Analyzing financial data and researching account variances
  • Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed
  • Maintaining fixed asset schedules and assisting with depreciation calculations
  • Preparing supporting schedules and documentation for audits
  • Assisting with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting activities
  • Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiencies
  • Supporting special projects and ad hoc reporting requests from management

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Accounting preferred)
  • 1-4 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles
  • Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and lookup functions
