Job description

Summary: The Warehouse Assistant Supervisor is responsible for being the acting supervisor when the Supervisor is not present. Assist Supervisor in supervising the daily operations of the material and inventory management. In this role, you will support the construction teams by managing inventory, coordinating deliveries with project teams to meet operational needs, and supervising warehouse personnel.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assist in supervising warehouse personnel, including training, scheduling, and providing overall guidance.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, and distribution of construction materials and equipment.
  • Conduct regular inventory audits and maintain accurate records in the inventory management system.
  • Oversee the material delivery (MDR/MDO) process and provide support as needed.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies in inventory levels.
  • Ensure team adherence to safety protocols, operational guidelines, and company policies with the warehouses.
  • Ensure timely delivery of materials to the job sites while coordinating with logistics team.
  • Manage and maintain warehouse equipment and vehicles.
  • Enforce adherence to OSHA and company safety standards within the warehouse.
  • Conduct regular safety training and audits.
  • Provide regular updates on inventory status, staff productivity, and operational efficiency to management.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED in a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in material management and/or warehousing, preferably in the construction industry.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of the supply chain process and warehouse management processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to use inventory management software, such as Spectrum.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing diverse teams.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations and safety practices in a warehouse setting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, and highly organized.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities depending on project needs. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all levels of employees, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Ability to work in a construction site environment (trailer office).

Language Proficiency:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Nice to have:ย 

  • Ability to operate heavy equipment, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona to perform certain work functions.
