The AssistantProject Manager willassist the Project Manager in providing management oversight for all phases of the construction project, including coordinating workers, material, and equipment. The Assistant Project Manager will also assist with ensuring that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding on schedule and within budget.

What You'll Do:

  • Project Support: Assist the Project Manager in the planning, execution, and monitoring of mechanical projects, ensuring all phases are completed successfully.
  • Documentation Management: Prepare and maintain project documentation, including schedules, contracts, meeting notes, and progress reports.
  • Communication: Facilitate communication between project stakeholders including clients, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure clarity and alignment.
  • Site Coordination: Conduct regular site visits to monito progress, ensure compliance with project specifications, and address any issues that arise.
  • Budget Tracking: Assist in monitoring project budgets, tracking expenses, and preparing cost reports to keep projects within financial limits.
  • Quality Assurance: Support the implementation of quality control processes to ensure work meets industry standards and client expectations.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify potential project risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies to address challenges proactively.
  • Reporting: Compile and present project status updates to the Project Manager and other stakeholders, highlighting key achievements and areas needing attention.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in project management or engineering roles, preferably withing the mechanical contracting or construction industry.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and piping, understanding of relevant codes and regulations.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with attention to detail; ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of interacting professionally with clients, team members, and subcontractors.  Fluent English verbal and written skills are required.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficient in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Driving Requirements:
    • Must have a valid Virginia driver’s license.
    • Must have positive points on state driving record.
    • Must be at least 21 years of age unless company approval is granted.
    • Must not have had a DUI, DWI, or reckless driving conviction in the last five years.
    • All driving records are run as part of our pre-employment process and reviewed at the discretion of the Safety Team.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Must be able to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb. 
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis, unassisted. 
    • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. 
  • Working Conditions:
    • Primarily office-based with regular site visits to monitor project progress.
    • May require occasional overtime to meet project deadlines.
