Job description

Please Note: New Directions is the geriatric behavioral health unit for Dodge County Hospital.
HOURS: Full-time.
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Chief Nursing Officer. The New Directions Marketing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and evaluating marketing, referral development and community outreach strategies that promote the New Directions Behavioral Health program. This position serves as the primary liaison between the program and referral sources, including physicians, hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, home health agencies, social workers, and community organizations. The Marketing Director is responsible for increasing program awareness, strengthening referral relationships, and supporting census growth while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations. This position requires frequent travel within the service area.
EDUCATION:
- Requires a high school diploma or a GED state certification.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Social Work, Nursing, Psychology, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
- Requires 5 basic units of DCH education units per year.
- Requires DCH mandatory annual training.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain relationships with referral sources, including primary care providers, psychiatrists, emergency departments, skilled nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, long-term care facilities, home health agencies, social workers, and case managers.
- Conduct regular visits to referral partners to educate them about program services and admission criteria.
- Monitor referral trends and identify opportunities for growth.
- Assist referral sources with patient placement and admission processes.
- Develop and implement strategic marketing plans to increase awareness of New Directions Behavioral Health services.
- Promote services through presentations, educational programs, community events, and outreach activities.
- Create brochures, newsletters, and promotional materials.
- Maintain consistent branding and messaging for the program.
- Participate in community health fairs and senior-focused events.
- Assist leadership in meeting census and admission goals.
- Track referrals, admissions, and conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate records of referral activities and contacts.
- Ensure marketing activities comply with HIPAA regulations, CMS and DNV standards, and federal and state healthcare standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of three (3) years of healthcare marketing, behavioral health, social services, admissions, or business development experience preferred.
- Experience working with geriatric populations preferred.
- Knowledge of behavioral health services and community resources preferred.
