Northrop Grumman's Space Sector is seeking a Mission Assurance Software Engineer - Level 4 to join our team in Aurora, CO. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.
The Advanced Tactical Missions (ATM) Business Unit organization within the Northrop Grumman Space Systems pushes the boundaries of innovation, redefines engineering capabilities, and drives advances in various sciences. Our team is chartered with providing the skills, innovative technologies to develop, design, produce and sustain optimized product lines across the sector while providing a decisive advantage to the warfighter. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.
In this job, you will:
  • Develop, modify, apply and maintain quality systems and protocols for processing software.
  • Collaborate with software engineering and systems engineering functions to ensure quality standards are in place.
  • Devise and implement methods for testing and evaluating software.
  • Design and analyze inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment.
  • Witness acceptance tests (FAT, SAT, etc.)
  • Audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction.
  • Ensure that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
  • Assist Software Engineering in reporting metrics to the SCRUM process including monitoring and assisting with the Epics, Sprints, Spirals, and Discrepancy Reports (DR) entry, resolution, closure and metrics around DR.
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field with 8 years of professional experience - OR - Master's degree with 6 years of professional experience - OR - PhD with 4 years of professional experience.
  • Requires an active Top-Secret at time of application with ability to obtain Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) clearance
  • Experience in AS9100 based quality system implementation and maintenance
  • Understanding of software engineering principles, practices, and theories
  • Strong knowledge of functional, regression, performance, and security testing
  • Proficiency with test-automation framework and experience embedding automated tests into CI pipelines
  • Competent in a high-level language used for test scripts
  • Experience in code reviews, software peer reviews, and technical documentation reviews
  • Knowledge of software configuration control methods
  • Experience in software related metrics and reporting
  • Agile practices - Active participation in sprint planning, daily standups/SCRUM, retrospectives, backlog grooming
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally while maintaining an independent role reporting to Mission Assurance
  • Observation reporting, traceability, monitoring and assisting in test failures

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Ability to understand and work with multiple enterprise-wide systems and software problem tracking tools such as DOORs, Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket
  • Experience using SAP Business Suite
  • Experience in Root Cause Investigation
  • AS9100 auditing experience and/or auditor training

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,300.00 - $193,900.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
