  • 3 years of experience with embedded operating systems.

  • 2 years of experience in a people management or team leadership role.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • Experience with x86/ARM assembly.
  • Experience with Linux development environment and git/gerrit tools.
  • Experience developing in coreboot, Zephyr OS, or other open-source projects.
  • Experience bringing up USB-C stack, sensors, and other peripherals.
  • Experience building consumer electronics and knowledge of manufacturing, supply chain, and customer support processes.

In this role, you will work on low-level embedded software, new device bring-ups, and open-source technologies. You will manage a team of responsible for defining and implementing firmware features, improvements, and processes to help us scale. You will scope the work to develop bootloader and embedded controller software for a wide range of ChromeOS devices and contribute to open-source coreboot and Zephyr Operating System (Zephyr OS) projects. Throughout the development process, you will identify ways to improve the scalability and maintainability of our codebase while enhancing collaboration with external ODMs, OEMs, chip/System on a Chip (SOC) vendors, and global internal teams.
Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $207000 - $301000 (USD) 20% bonus target equity benefits

Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of 8-9 engineers.
  • Work with a larger team of engineers and product managers to design and develop firmware features.
  • Evaluate and help improve firmware code and processes for scalability and maintainability.
  • Participate in board bring-ups and work with partners to deliver new Chrome Operating System (Chrome OS) and Android devices.
  • Collaborate with a global team of software and hardware engineers on new technology proposals and process improvements.
