Job description

Jackfish Cart Rentals is one of the premier golf cart rental companies on the Texas Coast, serving thousands of visitors each year in Port Aransas. Beyond rentals, we operate a full-service golf cart repair facility, sell new and retired golf carts, have a beach boutique, a snow cone stand and manage a growing fleet while maintaining multiple commercial properties.

We're looking for a motivated, hands-on Assistant Operations Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys leading people while solving operational challenges. This position is ideal for someone who can manage employees, oversee daily business operations, and isn't afraid to jump into the shop when needed.


The Assistant Operations Manager will work directly with ownership to oversee the day-to-day operations of Jackfish Cart Rentals. This individual will be responsible for employee leadership, fleet management, repair shop operations, customer service, and facility maintenance while helping ensure the company continues delivering exceptional customer experiences.

This is a leadership position requiring strong organizational skills, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to manage multiple departments simultaneously.


Responsibilities


Operations Management

  • Supervise the daily operations of the rental business.
  • Ensure efficient workflow between rentals, service, and sales departments.
  • Assist with scheduling and supervising employees.
  • Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve escalated issues.
  • Develop and improve operational procedures.

Employee Leadership

  • Lead, motivate, and train team members.
  • Assist with hiring and onboarding new employees.
  • Schedule staff and ensure adequate coverage.
  • Hold employees accountable for company policies and performance standards.
  • Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment.

Rental Fleet Management

  • Oversee the maintenance and readiness of the rental fleet.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor fleet condition and prioritize repairs.
  • Ensure all carts are clean, safe, and rental-ready.
  • Track fleet utilization and recommend replacements or upgrades.

Repair Shop Management

  • Manage daily workflow within the repair shop.
  • Write repair orders for private customer vehicles.
  • Communicate repair estimates and timelines with customers.
  • Coordinate technicians and monitor repair progress.
  • Order and manage parts inventory.
  • Ensure quality control on completed repairs.

Golf Cart Repair

  • Perform diagnostics and repairs on electric and gas golf carts.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and drivetrain issues.
  • Assist technicians during busy periods.
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop.

Golf Cart Sales

  • Assist customers purchasing retired rental golf carts.
  • Prepare carts for sale.
  • Explain features and financing options when applicable.
  • Coordinate delivery and documentation.

Retail Sales

  • Assist customers with retail purchases.
  • Maintain showroom organization and merchandising.
  • Manage inventory and reorder products as needed.

Facility & Property Maintenance

  • Oversee maintenance of company buildings and facilities.
  • Schedule repairs with contractors when necessary.
  • Coordinate preventative maintenance projects.
  • Ensure company properties remain clean, organized, and professional.

Qualifications
