Burlington Recreation and Parks provide a diverse range of programs that enhances the well-being of our residents. Besides just being fun, Burlington's parks, programs and services provide opportunities to improve physical and mental health, develop our youth, focus on the environment and make a positive impact on our city.

This part-time position is located at the Burlington City Park in the Amusement park area. This employee will be responsible for selling concessions or tickets for rides out of the concessions stand at the amusement park. This position requires frequent weekend work March through October as well as morning and afternoon weekday work June through August. This position requires less than 1,000 work hours per calendar year.

Examples of Duties
  • Operate point-of-sale systems to ensure smooth and accurate transactions.
  • Craft and serve popular concession items like popcorn, snow cones, nachos, and bottled drinks.
  • Engage with customers to sell ride tickets and season passes, providing excellent service.
  • Skillfully handle equipment, including popcorn machines, snow cone makers, and frozen beverage machines.
  • Ensure drink machines are properly stocked and maintained for seamless operations.
Qualifications

Maintain an enthusiastic and friendly attitude in all interactions.

  • Adhere to all Health Department standards as directed by management and the Alamance County Health Department.

Must be 15 years or older.

Previous experience in concessions operations is desired but not required.

Work Schedule

Shifts will vary depending on season and day of the week. Starting in January and going until June, shifts will be Friday afternoon, Saturday morning or afternoon, or Sunday afternoon. Starting in June and going until August, shifts will be morning or afternoon Tuesday through Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Starting in August and going until the following Summer, shifts will be Friday afternoon, Saturday morning and afternoon, and Sunday afternoon.
