Assistant Singer information

What are the 7 levels of singers?

The seven levels of singers typically refer to a classification of vocal proficiency, ranging from beginner to professional. These levels include novice, intermediate, advanced, and expert, often used in vocal training to assess skill development and guide practice. Progression through these levels involves improving vocal technique, range, tone, and performance ability.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Assistant Singer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Assistant Singer, you need strong vocal ability, musical knowledge, and experience with harmonization, often supported by formal music training or vocal lessons. Familiarity with music notation software, audio recording equipment, and sound editing tools is typically required. Reliability, adaptability, and teamwork are essential soft skills for supporting lead performers and collaborating with other musicians. These skills ensure high-quality performances and seamless integration within musical ensembles or productions.

What are some common challenges faced by Assistant Singers when supporting lead vocalists during live performances?

Assistant Singers often need to quickly adapt to changes in setlists, harmonies, and musical cues during live performances. Balancing their own vocal projection while blending seamlessly with the lead singer can be challenging, especially in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. Strong communication and attentiveness are essential, as Assistant Singers must be ready to adjust on the fly and support the overall sound, sometimes even covering for unexpected issues such as technical difficulties or last-minute changes.

What are Assistant Singers?

Assistant Singers are vocalists who support lead singers or main performers in musical productions, concerts, or recordings. Their responsibilities include singing harmonies, backing vocals, and sometimes stepping in for the lead during rehearsals or minor performances. They work closely with musical directors and other artists to ensure the overall sound quality and performance meet professional standards. Assistant Singers may also help with vocal arrangements and provide support during live shows or studio sessions.

How to get hired as a Singer?

To get hired as an assistant singer, develop strong vocal skills through training or practice, build a diverse portfolio or demo recordings, and gain experience by performing at local venues or auditions. Networking with industry professionals and creating a professional resume can also improve your chances of securing a position in a singing role.

What do personal assistants do for singers?

Personal assistants for singers handle tasks such as managing schedules, booking travel and accommodations, coordinating with agents and managers, and handling communication. They help ensure the singer's daily operations run smoothly, allowing the artist to focus on performances and recording.

What is the difference between Assistant Singer vs Vocal Coach?

AspectAssistant SingerVocal Coach
CredentialsBasic vocal training, singing experienceVocal training certifications, teaching experience
Work EnvironmentPerforming with artists, on stage or studioTeaching studios, private lessons, workshops
Industry UsageSupporting lead singers, ensemble workTraining singers, improving vocal techniques

Assistant Singers typically support lead performers during performances or recordings, focusing on singing tasks. Vocal Coaches, on the other hand, teach singing techniques and help singers improve their voice. While both roles involve singing skills, Assistant Singers are more performance-oriented, whereas Vocal Coaches focus on training and development.

Is there a job that pays you to listen to music?

Assistant singers typically do not get paid solely for listening to music; they are paid for performing, singing, or supporting musical productions. However, roles like music testers or audio reviewers involve listening to music as part of quality control or feedback processes and are paid positions. These jobs often require good hearing, musical knowledge, and sometimes specific certifications or experience.

Job Description

Administrative Assistant

Singer Drivers Club | Willow Springs Raceway | Mojave Desert, California

ABOUT SINGER DRIVERS CLUB

Singer Drivers Club (SDC) is a world-class private motorsport and lifestyle club at Willow Springs Raceway — the fastest road in the West since 1953. Set deep in the Mojave Desert, SDC hands its members the keys to six legendary circuits, elite driver coaching, concierge-level service, curated food and beverage, and an expansive outdoor pursuits program. This is more than a track. It's a founding-team opportunity to build something rare from the ground up — a club that fuses raw performance, real adventure, and genuine community at a standard set to rival the finest private clubs in the country. For the right person, this is the chance to help write the standard rather than inherit it.

SDC joins a distinguished family of private clubs and communities that includes Yellowstone Club, Moonlight Basin, Spanish Peaks, and Crazy Mountain Ranch — some of the most extraordinary member destinations anywhere. To build a career inside a collection this ambitious is a rare thing: the standard you help set here connects to a much larger world of remarkable places and the people who bring them to life.

THE ROLE

The Administrative Assistant is the utility player who keeps SDC running — the person who touches a little bit of everything and makes the whole operation smoother for it. One hour you're supporting leadership and running the club's systems; the next you're restocking a comfort station, helping a member, or sorting out a waiver. If it needs doing, you're the one who jumps in.

You'll own the club's day-to-day technology and keep it humming — Pacesetter, TripleSeat, Smartsheet, and TEI — entering data, running reports, troubleshooting, and being the go-to when something isn't working. As the systems the club runs on grow, you'll grow with them.

You'll interact with members directly, process waivers and paperwork, coordinate schedules and travel, prepare documents, manage files, and handle the hundred small things that make a fast-moving startup run. Priorities shift by the hour, and you stay two steps ahead.

This is a role for someone who loves to solve puzzles and can't sit still while there's a problem to crack. No task is beneath you and none is too unfamiliar to figure out. The best person here is resourceful, unflappable, and genuinely energized by variety — the kind of person who says "I'll handle it" and then does. No matter what the task at hand is, this job does a little bit of everything.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Wearing many hats — jumping into any task, department, or problem as needed
  • Executive-level administrative and calendar support
  • Owning and administering the club's core systems — Pacesetter, TripleSeat, Smartsheet, and TEI
  • Data entry, reporting, and troubleshooting across club software
  • Processing member waivers, paperwork, and records
  • Direct member interaction and front-line support
  • Stocking and maintaining comfort stations and member areas
  • Document preparation, correspondence, and file management
  • Fielding inquiries by phone, email, and mail as a first point of contact
  • Travel coordination and expense management
  • Prioritization and triage in a fast-changing environment
  • Discretion with confidential and sensitive information
  • Sound, common-sense judgment and resourceful problem-solving
  • Professional, warm communication

EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years supporting senior executives or leadership, or in a versatile operations/administrative role
  • Hands-on experience with club or hospitality software (Pacesetter, TripleSeat, Smartsheet, TEI, or similar)
  • A track record of wearing multiple hats and solving problems independently
  • Experience handling confidential or sensitive material
  • Comfort in a startup or high-tempo environment
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office and productivity software
  • Experience coordinating travel, calendars, and expenses
  • High school diploma or GED required; college coursework or degree preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Professional, warm communication

DETAILS

  • On-site, remote desert location; occasional weekend or event coverage
  • Full-time, benefits-eligible
  • Reports to the General Manager

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position requires walking, standing, and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with members, supervisors and subordinates.

BENEFITS

  • Medical, Dental, Vision benefits (FSA/HSA/DFSA options)
  • Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) - Annual $650
  • Company-paid employee Life Insurance, Short-Term & Long-Term Disability
  • 401K with Bi-Weekly Employer Match
  • Paid Time Off
