Job description

Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Asst

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner/Physician Asst will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and therapy to patients with mental health disorders. They will work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the individual needs of each patient.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and assessments
  • Prescribe and manage medications for mental health disorders
  • Provide therapy and counseling to patients
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement treatment plans
  • Monitor and evaluate patient progress
  • Document patient care in electronic medical records
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families

Requirements include:

  • Master's degree in nursing or physician assistant studies
  • Current state licensure as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant
  • Certification as a psychiatric nurse practitioner or physician assistant
  • Experience in psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and therapy
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records
