Description:
SUMMARY: Full time salesman will sell services and products in a manner that will optimize the cooperative's market share and savings, improve the cooperative's efficiency, help achieve the cooperative's mission and goals, and result in outstanding customer service.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES: Promote Sales and Agronomy Service. Responsibilities involve sales, inventory, reporting, maintenance, and other duties as assigned by management. A positive attitude will be maintained that promotes team work within the cooperative and a favorable image of the cooperative.
• Sales includes working with Marketing Manager to establish sales goals and to develop and promote a marketing plan.
o Assist in establishing sales goals
o Work with management and employees to maintain these goals
o Responsible for seed sales, purchases, deliveries and margins
o Assist in developing and promoting a competitive marketing plan
o Make proper recommendations and applications of products sold
o Keep resource manuals accessible and current
o Ensure no product problems result due to your recommendation
o Attend all product updates and service training sessions
o Know prices of products and services
o Maintain current market share
o Loose no customers due to careless performance
o Keep all customers supplied with product
o Inventory involves analyzing and projecting customers' seasonal needs and assisting the general and department managers in periodically evaluating the product line.
o Maintenance involves maintaining the company vehicle and equipment for maximum performance, efficiency, and appearance.
o Other Duties include upholding cooperative policies and other duties as assigned by the Marketing Manager. Sales Specialist will enforce and uphold the cooperative's credit policy.
o Notify the Agronomy Sales Marketing Manager of any customer complaint or compliance issue
o Cooperate fully with the main business office to maintain accurate information for our customer base
Requirements:
PERFORMANCE MEASURES: To perform this job successfully and individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
o 5 years of sales experience and/or training
o Education and or experience with agricultural sales
o Precision Ag technology knowledge preferred
Language Skills:
o Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
o Write routine reports and correspondence
o Speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization
Mathematical Skills:
o Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
o Apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Reasoning Ability:
o Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
o Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
o Commercial Drivers License-Class B with hazmat endorsement
