We are looking for an Assistant Project Manager to join our Landscape Division. This position is responsible for assisting the Project Manager in providing overall administrative and technical direction on projects.     

Essential Functions

  • Assist in planning, organizing and managing the field team with the Project Manager and Estimator.
  • Analyze and price out change orders.
  • Assist the Project Manager with the establishment of project objectives.
  • Represent Griffith Company by initiating and maintaining liaison with primary owner representatives.
  • Assist with the overall management of the financial aspects of the contract, including job cost reports, billings, budget changes, change orders, accounts payable processing and collections.
  • Assist in the review of deliverables prepared by the team before submitting to Owner.
  • Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing.
  • Supervise, direct, and mentor project engineering staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met.
  • Coordinate multi-phases and tasks of construction including the management and scheduling of subcontractors, vendors and suppliers as well as any self-performed work.
  • Provide support to Project Manager.
  • Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations and procedures for accomplishing project.
  • Participate in the preparation of project reports for management and owners.
  • Assist Project Superintendents and Foremen in scheduling work
  • Review timesheets
  • Provide safety and quality control management
  • Maintain accurate forecasting and management of project budgets.
  • Manage subcontractors and project team (subordinates)
  • Resolve problems involving labor disputes, material deliveries and contracts/subcontract administration
  • Assist Project Manager with the oversight of document control and coordination of subcontractors
  • Other duties as assigned

Education

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree would be preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.
