Grand Hyatt Kauai Resort & Spa is seeking a dynamic and service-driven Assistant Recreation Manager to assist Recreations Manager with all aspects of our recreation operations. This role is responsible for delivering exceptional guest experiences while driving team engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with a passion for hospitality, proven organizational skills, and the ability to inspire teams in a luxury resort environment.
Salary Range $66,100 - $95,700
Operations & Guest Experience
  • Oversee daily recreation operations, including pool areas, activities, and guest programming.
  • Elevate service standards to ensure exceptional and memorable guest experiences.
  • Maintain a strong presence in recreation areas to engage with guests and provide hands-on leadership.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and resort policies and procedures.
  • Pool Operations experience strongly preferred.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Recruit, train, coach, and develop recreation team members.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide regular feedback, performance evaluations, and ongoing coaching.
  • Lead by example in professionalism, service excellence, and teamwork.
  • Promote positive staff morale and engagement.

Scheduling & Payroll
  • Create and manage team schedules to align with business demands and labor budgets.
  • Oversee payroll administration, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Monitor labor costs and productivity to support financial goals.

Project & Activity Management
  • Plan, implement, and manage recreation programs, events, and activities.
  • Lead special projects that enhance guest offerings and operational efficiency.
  • Continuously evaluate and innovate recreation experiences to align with brand standards and guest expectations.
