What You'll Do:

Projecting

  • Supply Needs
  • Long term Projections
  • Scheduled Materials Arrivals

Maintain Inventory Levels

  • min/max inventory
  • Target Inventory Goals (Monthly/Annually)
  • Fresh Pack/Paste Pack paste inventory

Ordering & Releasing Supplies Communication

  • Internal - Plant Manager & Purchasing Department regarding purchasing needs
  • Warehouse-Incoming space/storage requirements
  • Plant Auditors/Finance-Timing of purchases concerning budgets
  • External - Vendors regarding coordination of upcoming supplies
  • Carriers- Pickup and delivery timing
  • Direct liaison between Red Gold and On-Site Bottle Supplier (Graham Packaging) Elwood

Other Duties

Not all of the following apply equally to all facilities

  • Kosher duties - inspections with the Rabbi of ingredients and Good Manufacturing Processes
  • Ingredient Audits - monthly
  • Waste management - removal for all facilities
  • Coordinating ingredient orders with the other two manufacturing facilities
  • Monitor obsolete/slow moving supplies
  • Request ingredient extensions for aged raw materials
  • Work with vendors concerning defective materials
  • Work with plant Production/QA teams to establish defect rates of materials
  • Assist with Hold and Release of raw materials
  • Obtain proper documentation of raw materials from suppliers
  • Coordination of Materials for Fresh Pack as applicable per facility
  • Bulk Ingredients Trucks-
  • Bulk Sweeteners Rail-Releasing of rail cars from suppliers to meet contracted requirements.

    Requirements for Success:

    • 4-year degree in any of the following: Economics, Accounting, Business, Or any related field
    • 3 years Purchasing experience (if degreed)
    • 5 years Purchasing experience if no degree
    • Accounting experience/background beneficial
    • Computer proficient – specifically with ERP systems, Excel.
    • Preference for understanding of the use of data mining systems, like Showcase and Data Tracker.
    • Good Math Skills

      Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

      • Excellent communication skills – MS Office (Excel #1 tool)
